Hydrocephalus from ecoli meningitis - 5 month old

My daughter is now 5 months old and we were just informed yesterday she will need shunts & tube for lifetime. We were also told she has NOT suffered from any brain damage which is a miracle. Iam asking if any other parents have been threw this wit there child ? If so pls msg me as I would like to ask a few questions thank u for ur time

So sorry to hear that your precious daughter has had ecoli meningitis. Yes unfortunately once hydrocephalus has occurred it can be managed with shunts but does not recover. As she is so young her brain is still developing so that's to her advantage I think with hopefully having avoided the brain damage concern. Best wishes for her development progressing as would be expected. Often if there are any problems these become more apparent when children start school.
