A few months ago I wrote on here explaining the struggles that I was going through after suffering from meningitis. Well what a different a few months make. I have had a few counselling sessions and im amazed at how well I'm feeling. I actually feel better than I did before I went into hospital. I am starting to value me as a person and I am not letting this illness beat me. Thanks meningitis now for getting me back on track ππππππ

This is really lovely to hear Malaga. I am so pleased for you that the counselling sessions have helped you come to terms with what happened to you and to value yourself again. Meningitis Now is brilliant with its post meningitis support. Thank you for posting this positive update.
Best wishes

Is there a way, those of us in the US can access any of the above help?
Hi Sopie
Unfortunately we can only offer direct support to those living in the UK (we are a UK charity). However, there are meningitis organisations in the US who may be of help, you will find links here: comomeningitis.org/join-us/...
Another option is to talk to your own doctor to see if he/she can make a referral to a local counsellor for you.
Best wishes

Thank you. I wish the US was as current in healthcare as your country is. My Masters is in Public Health, and I am an advocate for preventative medicine, instead of the crisis management style practiced here. The government is starting to realize the issues here, but we have such a long way to go.
So happy to read your progress. We all have to give it time to heal and we will probably have some symptoms but patience is the key word here. lets think positive and nurture our bodies, what we eat, things we do etc - positive psychology thinking can have a positive impact on our lives. I am glad I wake up every morning and see my family - your progress is very good news. Well
Done.
Thanks for your post, you give us hope, and I pray you continue to recover.
