I have gain weight since I went back to work
Hi,
I have similar experience. I had horrible bacterial meningitis in 2011 and after that, I've been adding so much weight. The doctor's said that it was a side effects of my medication -pregabalin. So if you are on this medication or on gabapentidine, or such medication, then know that you are suffering same as me. You can read my story in my blog. Thanks
Sorry to hear of the Meningitis but know you are not alone and can find support here .I think weight gain is very common after Meningitis -I have put on 3 and half stone since bacterial Meningitis in 2008.At first I put it down to not being mobile - have balance damage, constant pain and am on crutvhes and wheelchair for distances .I think it is a combination of that and also my medication - I am on gabapentin also plus anti nausea drug ( cinnarizine) which also causes weight gain.
If it is drugs then you have the option of discontinuing but it could be at expense of symptomsW..hat medications do you take?
I know I have tendency to crave sweet things and could reduce my portion sizes!
WeightT IS a very personal issue and I think society obsesses too much and make us feel that a few pounds gained is bad,Perhaps if you have gained a huge amount ,that would be bad for your future health ,you could get some help from Gp,weight loss club.
Though I do not like the bigger me, I have decided that I have more important issues at moment .I enjoy my food and am on gluten, dairy, sugar free diet so have lots of restrictions,so the only way to loose would be to restrict calerie too.
Check the label on many drugs. Many can enhance your appetite.
