I was diagnosed by incidental finding of a meningioma in March 2017. It’s located on the right side of my head. I’ve just had a telephone consultation with my neurosurgeon and he advised surgery using the words ‘routine, not an emergency and lucky it’s in the right place’ I’m so scared and would love to hear success stories to help me through. Here is the history of MRI scans:
Sept 2017 to July 2018 (10 months) growth of 2mm
July 2018 to Nov 2020 (28 months) growth of 3mm

Hi Molly I also have a meningioma found by accident 5 years ago I know several people who have had this operation and very successful so try not to worry you obviously have a very good surgeon best of luck Regards M
Thank you for replying Sophy, your words have helped me. I’m finding it difficult at the moment to digest the thought of having the operation as I keep imagining the worse case scenarios x
Hi Molly, when I joined the Brain Tumour Charity’s Facebook support group 4 years ago after my shock meningioma’s diagnosis out of the blue, it really helped me understand that whilst everyone is unique there are many examples of people who’ve had meningioma’s and gone on to lead long, normal lives. It’s not necessary the end of the world. Personally I had my 7cm m successfully removed and have been all clear since and lead a normal satisfying life. 😁
Thank you Andy, shocked is how I feel. I do hope that with time, understanding and stories of happy outcomes I’ll be able to accept what is happening to me. That’s so thoughtful of you to offer further help but at the moment I’m going to take it slow. I may message further down the line though if that’s ok.
