So im friends with someone who is in his 20s and they are always telling me how his partner is always hitting him and recently they broke up and they both were talking to other people and his partner found out about it from his phone, hit him in the head, which is now bleeding and left. I dont know what to suggest because he thinks his partner is the sweetest person but they really aren't and i just dont know what to do anymore. Does anyone have advice?

There are many places to get support for domestic abuse call adult social services local to your area and they can advise you on what to do and how.

I would talk this through with your friend & make sure he knows, understands why & what Boundaries are there for. If he has Capacity to make Decisions, then I suggest you ask him to contact SServices make them aware. If he doesn't have Capacity, then he will have a Carer that you & him should & can speak to. If you just call SS you may risk your friendship, you need to atleast give him chance to decide for himself. Hopefully the pair of them are finished, it sounds like they are, a lovers tiff, but Hitting is never exceptable.

Hello AmericanXL , as others have said here this should be raised as a safeguarding alert with the local authority. If someone is at an immediate risk of harm you should contact the emergency services on 999. If you want any further advice then you can call our Learning Disability Helpline on 0808 808 1111 to speak with one of our trained advisers.
