we are thinking of relocating back to Northumberland - Alnwick/Morpeth area. We have an adult daughter with autism and severe learning difficulties who is 23. Does anyone know what day services/ supported living services are like there.

Thank you

The CQC website has a good lookup tool.

There may be other issues, such as your daughter's willingness to move (and the likely results of any best interests meeting) and whether there will be an easy way of funding in a new area (some LAs are not keen). It would be worth checking some of the finer points before committing?

Good luck!

Hi there! Unfortunately, I don’t have any knowledge on that area, but I would recommend reaching out to Mencap’s Learning Disability Helpline at 0808 808 1111 or email helpline@mencap.org.uk as hopefully they will have knowledge on the area you’re moving to — wishing you the best of luck and hope the move goes smoothly :)

Can’t copy the link but there is an NHS website where you can look up providers for various services (see screenshot). I agree with Steve’s comments- responsibility for finding your daughter’s provision may continue to remain with your current local authority, which would then have to provide for ‘out of county’ care. You need to discuss with them. Might also be worth contacting Northumberland Adult Social Care, LD Team?

Good luck
