Or do I lack capacity to be able to sign one. Can you sign a contract if you lack capacity? I think my deputy with social services will just buy me a phone outright maybe?

Hi there. If you have a deputy in social services it is because you were assessed to need support with financial matters. Contracts, even for everyday things like a mobile phone, can be complicated and have serious consequences if they are not dealt with properly. Lots of people struggle, not just those with learning disabilities. I would recommend you contact your deputy in social services and explain what you want. It is often better to buy a phone and then a separate sim card as it can be a lot cheaper and you have more choice that way, rather than be stuck with a contract that you can't get out of. Good luck.
