Challenging Capacity Assessments

Hello, I am looking for some advice please. Can you challenge capacity assessments caried out by LA social workers? Has anyone done this successfully? Is this something a private social worker could help me challenging, thinking they may spend more time and be more thorough than LA social worker. Thanks

I don't have any personal experience of challenging a social worker's capacity assessment but I do understand why you feel compelled to do so. I believe, but have never checked, it is possible to secure the services of an independent social worker and it might be worth looking into this. Experience tells me that social workers are often over-worked, do not have in-depth knowledge of the people in their case load and can be working to an agenda that does not fit with the needs and circumstances of the individual, so I think it is always advisable to challenge (and if possible overturn) any assessment or decision that feels wrong. I have lost capacity due to my worker doing stuff behind my back these people have took my money and put it in court of protection and I have a deputy/appointee you need to get intouch with your gp social prescriber and get referred to mental health team and get.a second opinion love it's awful. Loosing your capacity I'm now left feeling suicidal and everything bit that's only way to get your Capacity bk Hooe this helps
