Hi,

I'm in need of guidance pls.

Quick outline.... my daughter is 7, for many years we've believed that there is something wrong with her but I've been shot down my health visitors, school nurse, doctors, teachers and senco but her new teachers what to do a snap assessment on her which I'm very happy about that they finally see what I see. On Friday she spent the afternoon under the table at school, she was very distressed but calmed down when we got home but she's getting very angry over very small things and tbh I'm finding it really hard going.

My questions....

Has anyone's child had a snap assessment before (I didn't have a chance to spk to the teachers begone half-term)

How can we help her with her anger outbursts? What do we do?

Thanks, I feel a little bit lost xx

It sounds like she needs to see an educational psychologist, are you thinking her outbursts are to do with Autism or are you thinking something else. My son was statmented many years ago now but I know they don’t do that anymore. They call it something else. Maybe this a start to getting your daughter some help. It must have been so frustrating for you being ignored and for your daughter not to get the right help. Ask your g p for a referral to a paediatrician or the children’s mental health team as they can support with help to get a proper diagnosis or ask for a second opinion at Great Ormond street as they’re amazing.
