Hello. We are intending for our autistic and learning disabled son to live in a supported community outside county when he finishes college. We understand about the assessment. I'm finding it difficult to find information on how many months will be funded by the council. I've heard that he will have to come home for periods of time (similar to school holidays) due to a funding cap. Is there a central information source somewhere online? Is this what is known as 'The Offer or is that something different? Thanks for any experiences links and tips.

Hi BenjiB, sorry for the late response Thank you for replying, and I wish you all there best for future placement for adult living. I'll give the MENCAP helpline a call for further info.
Will be interesting to see what you find out. I’ve asked a few friends whose children finish college in July and will be start supported living placements and they’ve not heard of this either.
