Hello, my name is Jo and I'm a parent carer and Counselling Psychologist. I have a new book published this week called 'Day by Day: Emotional Wellbeing in Parents of Disabled Children which can be ordered here: amazon.co.uk/Day-Emotional-...

The book is based on my personal and professional experience, including undertaking doctoral research on this topic. It includes quotes from parent carers and tips and strategies for looking after yourself, based on lived experience.

I also discuss the complex emotions parents can experience and how others (including services) can help, or hinder, our wellbeing. I hope that it will help parents not feel so alone, as I know I did in the early years.
