Getting out

Does any one else have trouble getting their young person out of the house? My daughter is 18 and has Down Syndrome, I try and organise activities for her but she refuses to go to most of them. She is just happy being at home watching you tube etc. Should I try and push her to get out or let her be happy at home?

I have exactly the same problem with my son who is also 18. The lockdown didn't help as his only exercise club he went to has not returned since. He has put on so much weight so when I try to get him to walk anywhere his feet are in pain and we can't go very far. It's a vicious circle. He needs the exercise but when I try to get him to walk anywhere it causes him too much stress. I think try to encourage a bit of exercise every day and reward with the YouTube after. Good luck.
