COVID 19: Lack of Social distancing @ work

Hi all, with the current COVID 19 pandemic I as the sole carer and a young carer for my autistic brother is still asked to go to work at my part-time job as a delivery driver for Domino's pizza. However, the company is doing nothing to ensure social distancing at work, we are not even an arm length away from each other. I know my brother and I are not what the government classify as the vulnerable people that need to self-isolate for 14 days, yet if I fall ill no one can look after my brother and which then mean both of us would fall ill and we have no family in this country. I really don't want to work and do not feel safe to work unless the workplace can ensure social distancing.

I need some advice as to what to do. And could I tell my manager that I don't feel safe to work unless some action will be done?

So sorry to hear of your predicament you should definitely bring this up with your manager about your situation with your brother. He should be instructing you all to social distance to protect yourselves and others. Please express your concerns to him and stay safe.

Hello justcallmemum

how are you getting on? Are things any better at work (are you still expected to work?) Is the social distancing any better? I think people are getting a bit better at keeping their distance.

Do you have any friends or neighbours who could help out if you get ill - perhaps by bringing food, or keeping in touch on the phone/online.

All the best
