Private / consultant social worker needed !

Hello all -

I’m in need of finding a private / consultant social worker - I didn’t even know they existed until I read some of the threads in here !

when I google all I come up with is “jobs for private social workers” and a whole load of places to apply to be one. But I want to use the services of one !

I have a brother aged 63 with LD. it’s a long and complicated tale so I won’t go into detail for the sake of everyone’s sanity.

any help on what I should be googling would be very helpful. Or indeed any links.

we used Cathy Long. We are in Hampshire but she travelled to see us at home.

Hi, I don’t have experience with this myself, but what could be useful is reaching out to the Mencap’s helpline at 0808 808 1111 or sending an email to [e-mail] if you’re still stuck, or for any other advice down the road. Wishing you and your brother the best of luck!

thanks so much 😊. At this point I’m not entirely sure what I actually might need.

The main issue is that he’s at a “funny age”. Everything is geared towards younger people it seems.

I did get in touch with mencap helpline a while ago so I’m going to email them again I think.
