So I finally asked about exact tumor numbers/sizes. This is the gist. Sorry for terrible handwriting , still processing and not many people in my life understand what this means and I felt like I needed to share somehow. Also, mom didn't want to know but said I could ask so I know what to look out for going forward.

It’s hard to be brave.

You and your mom are both living our bravery. We are proud of you

Your mom sounds like my dad, the less he knows the better for him he thinks. The downside is anxiety when something new comes up!

Stay strong - prayers to your family!

H-Daughter,

I am so sorry you have to go through this at such a young age. It is very scary indeed, we can all definitely relate to that feeling; but I can see you are doing a wonderful job taking care of her and I really hope you don't forget to take care of yourself too, ask for help from family, friends, neighbours, community so that you have some time to yourself and breath.

I will not be very helpful with everything your mom is going through but my husband also had pleural and cardiac effusions and before getting better they got worse. But they were not as big as your mom's.

As to the number of tumors and the sizes, his list was comparable so I surely understand how you must feel. It is very challenging.

You are very brave and courageous, and we are here for you!

Thank you so much for the support!

Today we met with my moms palliative care team and asked the social worker for some help with a few things. Some days it's easier to manage everything , including self care...which I'm sure you've experienced.

I also successfully drained her lung today without the home care nurse, right now we have to drain every other day. If that means less hospital stays, I'm all for it!

Praying for more forward, positive motion!

I understand the wanting to know. I was that way, my husband wanted to know, but turned off soon after starting to hear it was too much for him. So I understand your moms feelings as well. You are doing an awesome job, and very brave to be draining her lung on your own. We are very proud of you as Missy said.
