but i do appreciate it's winter, so showers and shampoos matter less than in summer!
often i get round to wondering what's caused the exhaustion,
wondering if it's from q fever leftovers from many years ago.
there have been theories about viruses, but q fever is bacterial.
a very cluey dr i saw years ago put me on an antibiotic,
in the absence of any infection,
for treatment of exhaustion,
i think it helped at the time.
i felt better but then went and did too much.
while on the topic of antibiotics,
another observation:
some before c.f.s,
i had the start of a sore throat, and the start of a cold,
i was on a work trip,
my workmates went out to dinner, i said nah i'll rest it off.
i happened to have some antibiotic in my kit,
i took a quarter tablet of whatever it was,
felt fine in the morning.
context, i hardly ever get sick, except for this severe exhaustion for the past 17 years. also, on the very rare occasion i ever had a headache, i would have a quarter dose of panadol and then be in great shape within minutes

As far as I know, (speaking from my own knowledge and experience, obviously) infections and post-viral fatigue issues are quite a common trigger for illnesses like CFS.
I'm afraid I can't comment on the use of antibiotics in the absence of an infection, as the health service in the UK doesn't really prescribe them in such cases (unless you're unlucky enough to be missing your spleen, for example).
I'm all too familiar with the misery of chronic migraines (another consequence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, in my case).
If you're unhappy with your care or diagnosis, you can seek a second opinion; although I'm unfamiliar with the systems in countries outside of the UK.
However, there are a few general things you can do in order to help yourself, should you wish to go down this route:
- get hold of copies of all of your blood test results, along with reference ranges
- get hold of any letters that have been written about you (medically speaking) or even your medical records, if possible- you should be entitled to them; though you may have to pay a fee for this)
- write a list of all your concerns and ensure that everyone involved in your care has a copy
If I think of anything else that could be useful or you have any further questions, I'm happy to try to help
migraines are the worst, I've only had one in my life (diagnosis by pharmacist, as dr was unavailable at the time, i took nurofen and immediately better, so it was a mild case, )
a good friend and workmate suffered from them.
she said she dropped all obligations, and was healed of them.
we didn't go into detail, that's simply what she said to me
