I have had chest rib ache with a kind of tightness I have had a recent ECG with stress test and chest X-ray all perfect, had a CT of upper and lower abdomen last year all good.... so why have I got this weird feeling which triggers anxiety!! Dr says it’s all anxiety but I wonder if it links to CFS and if it’s common as I was diagnosed 2013 but not had this ongoing symptoms before
Thanks Sweepy

I personally get it a lot, it feels like one side of my rib cage is being seized unbearably. Weirdly affecting the bones more than anything. I always put it down to the similarities in ME to MS (look up MS hug) I personally think it’s from nerve problems (for me anyway as I also have EDS and my ribs come out of place often) but in ME we do have a screw up in the nervous system and also we are prone to muscle spasms which is part of your muscle pain. All I can say is doctors hate thinking outside the box of ‘we can’t see exactly what’s wrong so it’s anxiety or depression’. I’m sure there are times when it is but that’s my view on it. When mine flares up I put a hot water bottle on the affected area or if I’m well enough I soak in a salt bath for a while and just do very very small stretches to ease the muscles (if they are spasaming).
Thanks that really helps and makes perfect sense it is exactly how I feel, then I get anxious and not the other way round...so once again thank you it’s always good to know your not on your own or going mad 😊
