Following on from a quiet, but classy, Pom Pom run last weekend, we are going to the opposite extreme on Sunday. Two big events and lots of runners all needing your Pom Pom waving to help them through.
No need for our runners to have pre run nerves or last minute doubts though. I am sure that WS had them all in mind when he wrote “ The wildest hath not such heart as you.Run when you will, the story shall be changed!” (A Midsummer Night’s Dream Act 2, Scene1).
First up we have:
🌟 runningdad who is taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, alongside 18 to 20,000 others. This year the race is starting with waves being released between 9.15 am and 10 am. I hope that every one has read the blurb carefully as it is being run the opposite way round to previous years. It starts in Whitehall and finishes in Trafalgar Square, following the River Thames for the most part. This is a huge charity event, with lots of entertainment thrown in. Then we have a cavalry charge of HU running buddies who are descending on the unsuspecting lovely town of Bakewell in Derbyshire for another iconic event; The Monsal Trail! There are two events; a 10k and a Half Marathon. This is a multi surface run complete with tunnels, and possibly puddles, to run through (train noises optional!)
Running in the 10k we have:
🌟 Bluebirdrunner , Cantstopmenow , cheekychipmunks , Dexy5 , lexi6 (all the way from New Zealand) linda9389 , Sandie1961 , Shake-and-run , and UpTheStanley .
Running in the HM we have:
🌟three members of the Kat family; Katnap , TailChaser and youngest kitten. I think that they have given up on shorter runs!
Enjoy the hospitality everyone; especially the Bakewell tarts and puddings! I don’t know whether they will mix well with Guinness TailChaser , but I am sure that you will rise to the challenge.
We want everyone to come home with beaming smiles and, of course, the bling!

Edit; News from the front! GTFC and Tasha99 will be on the Monsal Trail too and Roseabi who used to be our brilliant admin here is running in Brighton; the Marathon no doubt,unless there is a longer option 🙂! Fantastic
