If we've missed anything, please do let us know. If there's anything you've missed maybe you can fit it in before midnight on New Year's day.
Remember - it doesn't have to be a run, a walk counts too; so if you're out with family or friends why not get everyone to sing along, do star jumps, wear a christmas present and stop half way round for some Christmas treats!!!
We do love all the photos and posts about your challenges! Do keep them coming ๐
Wishing everyone a very happy New Year @Irishprincess , @Beachcomber66 and me xxx
I have managed to run twice and will run tomorrow on our โextraโ day - plus I have been out for two walks with family members, so Iโm hoping that will qualify me for points for challenge no.3?๐
Also, wore my new chest light and Hilly running socks - both gifts!๐๐ 3 points for challenge no.2. ๐๐
Spurred on by your post and the dodgy weather forecast tomorrow, I set off to do the challenges I missed before Christmas.
I completed 12 star jumps in the kitchen after my usual warm up exercises- 6 points
It was windy and started raining as we ran to our start point, so instead of heading to the skate park to do my Strava art, I scaled it back to run along the new promenade area. Hopefully the the picture of my leggings and buff material will give you a clue. 5 points
After running home I did 12 soggy snow angels but I donโt think these give extra points .
I think thatโs me done . Happy New Year everyone.
I just ran my third run of this week of the challenge. I missed out on a decent lights photo, and was late with a couple, but it's been fun ticking things off.
Many thanks Irishprincess for putting it all together for us ๐๐
Snap!! I just completed my third run of the three run challenge! My second run in my new Christmas trail shoes; just 4k ( physioโs orders; I can get a note if need be ๐). I am really pleased with the shoes. I thought that trails might feel a bit clunky after years of running in my Adrenalines, but nope; really comfortable. A bit of extra stability and grip should stop the tightening along the outside of my calves which always appears in winterโฆand causes weeks of low mileage. Time will tell. Pace was 6:15/k which surprised me, given that it was an out and back, running into a gale on the out lap and wind behind me to the Cafe door. Garmin gave me a Finish Strong badge! Not a bad haul ๐
Thanks Dexy5. I donโt feel home and dry yet; but the transition has been perfect so far. We will see how they feel after 10 miles before rejoicing! I am being careful at the moment because I was only at the physios on Friday having some TLC on my calf. That said, despite the conditions, I came home with dry feet courtesy of the goretex finish on the toes. Hope your New Yearโs Eve plans go well; sure they willโฆyou are so organised.
A very pared down NYE on our own tonight , with a bit of Jools Holland thrown in I am sure. UTS will be cooking the steak and opening a bottle of red. With the awful weather forecast weโve already decided we arenโt running parkrun tomorrow, but it hasnโt yet been cancelled.
We are staying home too; wretched weather and better to stay with Molly when there are fireworks going off. Going to a friendโs house for lunch tomorrow with a small group of people we have known for years. Looking forward to it.๐
Our parkrun has cancelled because the forecast winds are above the park threshold, so no volunteering for me tomorrow after all - maybe a lie in instead!
Just got back home from Cornwall and have checked to see what I've missed out, maybe an extra day will mean I can tick them off. But I guess it depends on the weather. Forecast for strong winds and heavy rains tomorrow, not a combination for running in, but we'll have to see how it goes. Happy New Year everyone ๐ ๐ฅ
That's heavy looking sky, but how wonderful to be on the Cornish coast. The weather does look shocking tomorrow doesn't it. One way or another I hope to get out for a walk at least, but my parkrun volunteering has been cancelled. Now to decide whether to walk one of my other local ones ... or treat myself to a lie in ... that decision can wait til tomorrow!
I make that five points for the runs and walks, plus a bonus for singing! Another three points for the socks. There's another 1.5 points up for grabs if you munch something festive during your run tomorrow ... what's not to like about that!
