Good morning running friends. I have my fingers crossed hoping my safari german doesn’t also mean something inappropriate! There is always the edit function 🙂. I hope that the pouring rain and high winds, which have continued into a second day up here (less rain but more wind this morning!) don’t affect any of our friends who are racing this weekend.
We are going international in a big way this weekend!! We start on Saturday in
🌟Uxbridge? Yes, Decker our Ultra running rep in Canada is taking on the 5 Peaks Cider Run in Uxbridge Southern Ontario. A small matter of a 21.5k run and a 285m climb, but there is cider and an amazing eatery waiting just across the finish line. You might have a spot of rain to contend with Decker, but you will soon forget that! 😋
A long flight eastwards for our next runs; we are going to:
🌟 Berlin ! Where 00marks is having a warm up 5k on Saturday in the Generali which covers part of the marathon finish. A loosener and a nice preview for Sunday’s race. Two medals out of one trip is a smart move. We know that your build up wasn’t ideal; we hope the 5k sets up the big event on Sunday.
🌟 Berlin again! Yes, 00marks is running in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday too, where he is joined by TailChaser Katnap and Lookslikejames . The route is meant to be fairly flat, and beautiful too, so that should be a comfort for anyone who is nursing niggles. If the atmosphere doesn’t blow all that away, then surely the promise of post run food will. There has got to be beer and sausages at the end ( I am not going to attempt Toad in the Hole in German!). Just wake up on Sunday morning knowing that lots of people are willing you on, and enjoy this truly iconic event.
🌟 Time_Lord who is running a 10k race running out to Midcote, then turning back to historic Stratford on Avon, hopefully for some well earned apres run! Enjoy the route this year Time_Lord, we know that you chose it carefully 🙂.
🌟 Shake-and-run who is taking on another 10 mile trek along Cotswold Way, leading a group from Wotton under Edge to Hawkesberry . That will not be easy going! Wrap up warm Shakes 🙂.
🌟 the prolific drl212 running 5k in the “The One in the Park” at Greenwich Park. Have a good day out and enjoy what London has to offer dr1212. You are certainly packing in the races !!
🌟 Finally, but certainly not least, we have the amazing Mudita11 aka “ Ms Perpetual Motion”. Does she ever stop racing? She is taking on the Utilita Bowl 10k starting and finishing in the eponymous Hampshire Cricket Ground. Assuming no niggles, this could be another PB Mudita!! No pressure though. Enjoy your day and your bright flouro technical T shirt which awaits you at the finish….plus bling of course 🙂
And that my friends is that!! Unless we have forgotten anyone, in which case lets us know and we will edit you in!
Everyone running, wherever you may be, enjoy and come home safely. We love to hear your post run stories, so don’t forget to drop us a line …and now it’s porridge time here so bye for now 😋
Blimey! That's a line up and a half 👏👏👏Wishing everyone all the very, very best of what your race offers. Congratulations to each and every one of you for making the start line ... we'll be with you all the way to the finish 😊 Have the best time!!!
A bumper bundle as they used to say in the old days 😀. What a amazing weekend of running in store, not forgetting Shakes on her hike in the wide blue yonder 🤗
I’m praying for good weather for everyone 🙏 as well as top bling and good eats, and drinks in Decker’s case 🏅🙂
Have fun out there! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha! 💪🏃♀️🏃♂️
Best of luck everyone! 👏👏 Hope you have great runs, but most of all enjoy yourselves! I’ll be waving virtual Pom-Poms on the south coast 👍
I’m taking part in the Walk for Humanity in London on Saturday morning with a friend. She’s not a runner but it was her birthday last week so we’re having a celebration meal afterwards 🥳🎉🥂
I’m not worthy! Elite grade pom poms being agitated wildly for you all until they beg for mercy, and they’ll continue doing so until the final runner comes in from our epic team.
Good luck you mega bunch. That’s a lot of cumulative kms you’re all covering this weekend. ❤️
Good luck to every one of you, you’ve already achieved so much getting to the start line. So, enjoy yourselves and compose your posts while you’re running 🙂 We look forward to reading all about it 🍀🍀🍀
Thanks for the shout out BC. So far we are still on to walk the Cotswold Way on Sunday. I suppose the fact that it is on a hilly ridge means we might escape flooding. Only trouble is we are getting further and further down the country so the drive to begin is getting longer. 7.00am start for me on Sunday. fingers crossed for dry weather, gentle breezes and spectacular views.
I was unable to enter the Stratford 10k (very disappointed as The Bard is on the medal) as the date clashed with my walk. AlMorr’s news got me excited until I noticed that the revised date is also a date for Walking another section of the Cotswold Way. Never mind!!
Lots of good wishes to all our runners this weekend, hope you all get around safely with dry feet at the end. Special thoughts are with the Kats who are currently having an ‘adventure’ with their travel arrangements.
We ventured out onto the former railway line today. It was amazing to see how quickly the ground had soaked up yesterday’s deluge. Blue skies with dark clouds scattered around at present. Could get a shower at any time, but the gales have gone at least. Hoping to get out for a delayed recovery run tomorrow. Hope you get your walk in. 🤞🤞🤞🤞for the cats….you can’t train for weeks and then be thwarted by travel arrangements.
Goodness! Our arms are going to ache this weekend. So many races, so many racers, wishing you all strong legs and happy hearts, have fun and be proud 😀xx
Das ist gut! Tired pom pom waving from Amsterdam!! We are almost at journeys end, it’s just taking a while due to all the storms. Our pom poms will shake much more heartily for all you wonderful HUers come race day! Go get those medals!! 💪💪💪🥳🥳🥳
Be thinking of you all and waving pompoms from the I.O.W. ! That is quite some line up, got to be one if the most bumper weekends of racing lately! Really good luck to you all and enjoy! Xxx 🏃♀️🏃♂️💪⭐
