I havenβt gone completely crazy! I know that it is Wednesday night and thus a bit early for Friday Pom Poms, but I have a ship to catch tomorrow, a train from the South West to North East on the following day and I am not about to trust the hotel WIFI for this important post.
We have two intrepid runners (so far) who are racing this weekend.
EDIT: make that three!!!
We have:
π Β Β Time_Lord who, fresh from being signed off by her physio, is running a second race in a week! This the Stanley Park 10k in Liverpool on Saturday 6 July. The medal looks stunning, and there is a short video on the web site which gives a flavour of the event. Tread carefully Time_Lord and continue your post rehab programme. π
π Β in Canada, Decker (one of our admins until recently), running a 27k trail race through a beautiful forest a one and a half hour drive from Toronto
Then we have:
π Β Β RunWillie our VRB and regular correspondent from Australia running her first marathon race on Sunday 7 July. This is the huge Gold Coast Marathon which starts at 6:15 am AEST, which I think is nine hours ahead of us (it gets hot out there!) and involves thousands of runners from across Australia. The route is described as fast and flat with views of the ocean; in this case I am sure that is 100% accurate. The later stages of RunWillieβs prep was disrupted by Covid-19, and she has a five hour flight to get to the starting line, but she is one determined runner and will give this her all!
So we need extra vigorous waving of Pom Poms, and the loudest of shouts to reach around the world via Liverpool to cheer our two stars on to the finish of their races! Run well both, and come back safe. We are with you every step of the way.
From your team: Β Β Irishprincess Β Β linda9389 and me ππΎ
