I entered a trail race after hating a 5 mile one last year and also hating a XC run a few weeks ago. I still don’t know why (no medal involved).
A great turnout of just over 400 people for Parbold Hill trail race and it started off dry weather.
A running buddy said ‘Think of it like you’re in an Enid Blyton adventure)’ - so that’s what I did!
A little of the way in and sliding through mud (up past my calves) I fell over (hilarious as not hurt), climbing over many stiles, running downhill laughing and windmill arms and lovely cheering on from the volunteers (amazing people), rain heavily soaking us right through!
What an amazing adventure I shared with my running buddy. Loved every minute. ☺️
No medal but a nice neck buff and a Mars Bar (full size) which I inhaled. 😂
Pic of my muddy bum after falling over! 😂
I’ll be back next year.

Oh, that sounds hilarious and that picture could have been taken at the trail I did yesterday!😂 Well done you and I love that you just soaked it up (literally) and went for it!👍🙂
It is! I ran a similar stretch, hanging on to the fence at times and jumping/sliding from side to side across the path - and it did trigger a few hilarious conversations!😂
