Hi all,Is there an audio marathon training app that is as good as couch 2 5k? I've found the marathon training plan on here but an audio coach would be motivating.
Thanks π

Me again Skiddle1 !
Having done precisely one marathon event and not being a fan of audio-coached runs myself I have no personal recommendations. So, as always, I googled and found this: makeuseof.com/best-apps-tra...
However, please bear in mind that C25K, despite the name, is a time-based app. Creating an audio app to accompany someone throughout marathon training is extremely difficult because everyone runs at a different pace, so the duration of the audio commentary would need to vary very considerably.
Also, while C25k works well as a walk-run one-size-fits-all introduction to running, marathon plans aren't like that. I did a trail event and followed the simplest trail-specific training plan I could find. Road-based plans were useless for my purposes. Similarly, my plan would be totally unsuited to your London Marathon training.
Personally I just listen to music or speech podcasts, or nothing at all, when running. Many people enjoy Nike Run Club, and I imagine that many of the runs on there could be useful as an audio accompaniment to your training. However you'd still need to pick your plan.
Final thought: bear in mind that many races don't allow the use of headphones. I believe that the London Marathon allows the use of bone conduction headphones, but not other types.
Hope that helps, but not sure it does!
I'm pretty sure NRC has a marathon training plan. Not sure if you've used the NRC app? It is different to C25K insofar as it has a collection of varied guided runs and it also has some training plans. If you follow their training plan, then you get to select to use their audio guided runs or not (there are five per week, although you choose how many you want to do).
Here is a link to the plan PDF nike.com/pdf/Nike-Run-Club-... ; if you like the look of the paln, then you have the option of following it manually or downloading the app, selecting the marathon plan and then following the guided runs you choose out of the suggestions. When you download the app and choose a plan you input your event date and it will start you at the appropriate point so you are ready in time.
It's definitely worth a look.
NRC does indeed have a marathon plan π
Iβm about to download it just as soon as I get my phone mended
Each run has a guided run to go with it ππββοΈ
Perfect! Is it one you can adapt to your own commitments do you know?
it asks you a few questions first off, eg date of event, how many times a week you want to run. It comes up with a plan but you can skip runs, or entire weeks if you wish, or cancel at any time. Itβs free too
You can do Nike Training app alongside it too if you like
Iβm currently doing a half marathon plan but will be uploading a marathon plan soon for an event in November
