Have a half marathon in june, deferred from last year (swansea half) did it in 2019 before the whole covid thing, fitness took a bit of a nose dive but i've been trying to improve it overall in preparation to the first "half" of the year ... however the nerves are starting to kick in big time ... it's not my first rodeo as they say i've done swansea, cardiff, north wales coast half and chester twice however its the first race since 2019 and i'm anxious
not sure what i'm anxious about ... getting round in one peice ... not sure, i'll eff and jeff if i have too ... my weight, i'm a heavy for my size runner ... running with others again ... so looking forward to the atmosphere as i know what the swansea crowd are capable of ... just know that the nerves are there and not in a good way at the moment
how does everyone else cope with pre race nerves ... ?
i'm a bit ocd when it come to the race i have to have everything right in my head ... perhaps that's where the anxieties come from ... not sure but any pre race advice is welcomed
