I won't add race detail as cheekychipmunks did such a great description in her post. It was so lovely to finally meet her and I felt very lucky because this is the first race I've done where I 'knew' someone running AND had someone to cheer me on, as my friend travelled from Yorkshire to see me.
It was a great fun race although harder than advertised! One thing that puzzled me was that I managed to keep my heart rate low on all the hilly sections by going steady but the minute it said 'downhill from here', my HR went in red and stayed there despite me slowing right down and trying to do calm breaths!!! In the end I gave up trying to slow it and did a wonderful free sprint down the steepest most beautiful part, while trying to spot the goats!!! I only just scraped through at my target of under 60 and my chip time was 58.19!!! Last race I was 1:01. Very impressed with the race organisation by Relish running.
