It’s that time of the week again; time to get the pom-poms out and prepare your voices to support our eventers this week.
So, the more eagle eyed of you (or maybe those with enough breeze to still be on the ball) may have spotted it's not Friday, it's not quite the weekend yet!
Well the racing is starting early! So far we have notification of just one racer this weekend and as she will be crossing the startline this Friday evening I'd like to ask our amazing cheer squad to start your preparations on a Thursday for a change, to ensure we are well prepared!!!
Tomorrow evening, Friday 12th August Hedgehogs123 will be running her first 10k event, taking on the Sleaford Striders Summer 10k ; running for bling and cake runbritain.com/RaceDetail.a...
Having won an award for the best East Midlands 10k with it's beautiful course, I'm guessing you'll be hoping it's both beautiful AND shady. Channel those nerves, stay cool, hydrate well and enjoy!!! 😎
Newsflash: we have a late entry - on Saturday 13th August RunBrianRun will be running the 100m at the Southern Athletics League meet in Brighton 'for a bit of race practice'. Up against youngsters there will be some tough competition but that won't phase him! Run like the wind RBR!!!
Bon Courage🍀💪
Do let us know how it goes.
Have we missed anyone? Have you got an event this weekend? Let us know here.

Nope don't think so!! 🥵🥵 Garmin was sent back the same day, but in the end I had Strava on on my phone, so was able to hear at each km what pace I was doing.
Absolutely but I was surprised at how good I felt, despite the heat. I'd taken all the hydration tips on board which obviously worked. just towards the last km when I started to lag a little bit , but the thought of a cold drink and a slice of cake and my first medal spurred me on!!
Go fabulous Hedgehogs123 ! What a star you are. Have a blast, try to stay cool if you can, and think of that bling and cake waiting for you over the finish line. 🥰🎉
Good luck Hedgehogs123 🤞👍 Enjoy the bling and cake 🍰
Linda, I’m a late entry in the 100m at the Southern Athletics League meet in Brighton on Saturday. I’m running for a time and joining in with the young ‘uns so it’ll be last place but that’s completely expected. My coach says I need more race practise . 😬
Well that was a pleasant surprise. A new PB from 13.4 to 13.03. Places me 12th in the U.K. Just that pesky .03 between me and 9th position. It’s encouraging to see the progress I’ve made over the year.
I’m hoping the Pilates will add further strength over the winter break as I focus on building strength and power.
Congratulations. So excited to be on the same chat as a running star!!! .03 sec to be able to say your in top 10 in a age group......ooh that must be tempting.AMAZING!
That’s very kind of you to say Week7 😊 but I’m really not a running star at all. I am however going to do everything I can to get under 13 seconds and 90% age grading.
In fact, I’ve just looked at my age grading, thanks to this post of yours, and to my astonishment it is 89.8%!! So close!! 😀 I’m even more determined than ever now! Thank you. 😀
