Another Friday, another heatwave! While several weekend events have been postponed, some brave runners will still be getting out there – nothing’s gonna stop them now, however hot hot hot it might get.

Special edition pompoms (thanks for the inspiration Tabbles ) have been produced for the occasion, so get cheering, wafting, fanning, and generally blowing cooling air in the direction of TailChaser , who’ll be running the Compton Verney HM - tempoevents.co.uk/events/co... - on Sunday 17th July, complete with a guard of honour of hosepipes!

Save plenty of cheers too for misswobble , and send her cooling vibes for the ups and downs of the Hardwick 10k hardwickrun.co.uk/ on Thursday 21st July.

Oh dear, I’m so busy worrying about pre-race hydration and what flavour Tailwind to pack, I’d completely forgotten about Pom Poms 😱. Thank you Cmoi and everyone 🙏 Race report will come once I’ve finished the hose down!!

I’m more worried about lack of training runs than the heat. Largely confined to barracks with the elderly dog last week and a bit, plus a weekend away from home, I’ve just not run at all.

In preparation for the heat I stood outside for 90 mins at a football match on Saturday. I looked like I was going to the Henley Regatta. Floaty dress and straw hat (which was really funny as I was in with the boo boys 😁. We won 💪😀⚽️

Going to run today come what may 🙂
