Hi lovely runners and eventers! As we head to the mid point of the year already, itโs time to tell us what you have planned for July! Do we have some summer eventers amongst us?๐ค
Tell us all about your July events in the comments below and weโll add your details to the spreadsheet so we can send you out with a pom pom flourish on the Friday before your race to give you lots of cheers and good luck wishes ๐ฅณ

Remember, you never run alone!
Happy running and training you superstars!! ๐คฉ Bon Courage!!! ๐คฉ
Gosh, it's very quiet around here! I'm doing a Mighty Hike, which is a marathon-length walk, on July 30. It's down Dedham Vale, or more accurately the Stour valley, from Long Melford to Flatford Mill. Given my typical pace I will never be able to find time to practice for a marathon run, so this is a manageable alternative, and I'm also raising funds for Macmillan who helped my dad (and of course also helps many others) when he had cancer. Training going quite well - a couple of days ago I managed just under 22 miles. I think that will be my longest before the Big Day.
Meanwhile my running is still affected by having Covid in early April - it's amazing that I can walk so far but running is leaving me breathless. I'm working through C25K again (last completed in 2019) to boost my stamina. Today I'll be attempting the dreaded week 5 run 3 - the one with the non-stop 20 minutes. Aaargh!
That sounds amazing! Good luck, I'll add you to the list.Well done for finding motivation and structure again after covid. W5R3 was my favourite run ever - the biggest sense of achievement - you know you can do this๐คฉ
Given that description, I followed the link and couldn't find any reference to the climb length, gradient or elevation gain. How on earth can a race organiser claim their course includes a โlong, exhilarating climbโ and not give any of that information? ๐ฆ
Obviously I hope you have a fabulous time misswobble ๐ whatever the route turns out to be!
๐. My husband opened a bottle last night. Large, impressive label stuffed with superlatives. It was upturned in the sink as undrinkable not five minutes later ๐
I never thought to look โบ๏ธ Iโve run it three times I think ๐ค. I have the elevation details in my databanks somewhere. I think the description is fair ๐
I won a gorgeous run jacket one year ๐ฅฐ. Thereโs a photo on here somewhere of me being presented with it
Itโs a great event. Local, cheap, great support and good tea and cakes ๐ฐ. oh and medal and tee shirt.
You're doing a much better job of promoting that event than the organisers are misswobble !
I genuinely don't know what their description means, fair or not. 100m ascent? 150m? 200m? Over 3k? 5k? 8k? It would be so easy to change it to something like: "There's an exhilarating climb of [x] metres over [y] km."
Even that wouldn't give total elevation gain, but it'd be better than nothing. I'm sure they wouldn't omit overall race distance in the same way.
Have a great race, enjoy the good tea, and fingers crossed you win something fab again! ๐๐๐
I ran it in 61 minutes in 2019. Canโt see me doing that again ๐. Never mind, I shall have fun trying ๐ช๐๐โโ๏ธ
I admit I never bother with elevation gain etc. if I knew in advance I might not run it ๐โบ๏ธ Eg last yearโs Sept half marathon which I only entered as it was free. Nearly bloody killed me! My husband says โfools rush inโ. It was him that got me involved in the first place ๐
Hiya Linda, only just spotted this. Iโve got the Compton Verney half marathon on 17th July, glutton for punishment that I am. Looks like Iโm on my own with it as Katnap will be marshalling.
Hiya, Iโm running Run Norwich 10K on Sunday 17th July if my knee behaves. Got to 8K on training plan then got patellar tendinitis. Iโm hoping itโll be possible to resume training next week after 2 weeks rest ๐คso looking forward to it and been training on the route so hopefully no surprises lol
Hi Linda Iโm running the 200m at the Sussex Vets League in Lewes on the 25th. Iโm also awaiting selection for the 100/200 at the Masters Inter Area Championships on the 30th. I should make the 4 x 100 relay team though.
Thank you. Yes, Iโm really enjoying the challenge. Itโs quite a lonesome sport tbh but Iโll probably be back to some gentle park running in the off season come October.
Hello ! I'm running the London Asics 10k on 10th July. It will be my second organised run - i was so thrilled by the Vitality 10k I immediately signed up to this one - slightly different route, otherwise I wouldn't bother ! only problem is, I've just been on a 4 week work trip and had to suspend running for the duration (too hot, unfamiliar surroundings, no gym access...) - and had less than 2 weeks to get back up to 10k. So far I've done 3 runs and managed 7k (5k of which was park run - i came 3rd to last !! ๐ so it was 2k + 5k with a break in the middle).... I'll try and get up to 8k before the weekend but also don't want to overdo it ! Sigh. Anyway, I'm ok with taking short walk breaks, so I'll just enjoy the atmosphere.
If you managed 7k, you will manage 10k on the day. It may not be as fast as it might have been, but your legs will still have 10k in them - especially buoyed on by a bit of race magic. Relax and enjoy ๐
