It's a little quieter this weekend but we can change that! Let's give a loud collective cheer and some energetic pom pom waves (despite the heat!) to send four special runners out in style this weekend. The action is once again taking place on Sunday so there is time for it to cool down a little and for you to have your pompoms and voices fully prepared π₯³
David_G will be running another '5' beside the sea, this time at Felpham. Back to back weekends huh? that's dedication π Watch out for that wind tho!!!
I've got a 10k race on Sunday - haven't been doing much racing lately so not sure how I'll get on but looking forward to giving my legs a bit of a stretch!
10k completed and my word that felt hilly - my legs were a bit sluggish when warming up and didn't get any better slogging uphill. I blame the combination of hill intervals on Tuesday and three strength sessions including HIIT on Thursday. (I did give myself days off on Friday and Saturday but it seems that wasn't quite enough.)
The weather was good for running though - we somehow found a gap between storms and heat when it was humid but breezy.
It was nice to have a bit of an out and back section where I could wave at other club runners going by. Though the out section ended in a fairly steep downhill section which was a bit daunting to think about running up again shortly...
Despite the heat and reluctant legs I took 30s off my post-covid pb and enjoyed a nice morning out. And surely the most unusual post run goodies - wooden medal, post run cookie, banana... and a bag of local watercress!
