Hello all you fabulous eventers! Spring is definitely here and the spring race season is moving into full swing!!! π₯°
Are you taking part in an April event? If so, we want all the details. Any distance, any location, real or virtual - they all count.
Tell us all about it in the comments and weβll add you to our list; then look out for your VRBs pom pom flourish - together with masses of support - on the Friday before your race π₯³
I can kick this one off. April is a busy month for me with Kew half marathon on 10th, Beaconsfield 5 mile on 18th and then Ride the Night London on 30th (well, maybe that one doesn't count here π)!
Excited to be doing my 1st Half Marathon .. the London Landmarks race on April 3rdπ Then if I feel I can still make it the following week April 10th is the Brighton Marathon 10k my hometown run which I'd already entered before I decided on HM.
Ooh, an exciting month! LLHM was my first ever HM and will always be a special memory. Brighton will be a lovely leg loosener - and will feel nice and short too π
Itβs not great for sure despite hardly running. Iβll do tomorrowβs event and I can stop running after that as Iβve got no events planned for a while π
I canβt believe we are fast approaching April, and with it comes a run Iβve been preparing for as well as experiencing mixed emotions as to how itβs going to go!! π¬π¬On Saturday 9th April Iβll be taking part in the SDW50 run
A 50 mile trail run organised by Centurionrunning.com
Starting in Worthing and Finishing in Eastbourne.
The Day after, my Husband is running the Brighton Marathon and would like my support around the course! Mmm π€ I think not! Itβll be support from the sofa π€£
Oh wow, that's going to be an intense weekend in your house! Mixed emotions are to be expected just now, but focus on the amazing emotions that will come with crossing the finish line ... your work is almost done π
Blackberrypie is doing the Salisbury 10 too πThe misleadingly named Monday race is just plain evil ... but you're going back for more!!! Go you π
Only organised event for me in April is the Edinburgh Kilomathon 13.1k ( kilomathon.com/ ) on Sunday 10th. This is me finally getting to run it for real after signing up for the 2020 version but having to do it and the 2021 event virtually.
This is the last of my "deferreds". I actually have a couple of "real" 2022 events coming up in May, but will post them on the relevant post at the appropriate time.
I have an HM at the Bungay Festival of Running (Suffolk) next Sunday April 10th. All headphones are banned and I may really struggle for the last few miles without uplifting music...
I'll add you to the list. Those last few miles will be full of atmosphere, hopefully cheering marshalls and supporters but also the support of everyone running alongside you. Visualise that finish line and hear the cheers in your head. You will do this!!! Bon courage!!!
Hmm, well just checked the map, which I only found this morning, and we will be running the last two miles on a cycle path alongside the busy A143. Or when I say we, it might be me on my own somewhere near the back of the pack (which is what happened on my last HM in Chelmsford - I actually got lost because there was no-one to follow). Also possibly straight into the wind, although forecasts vary. Still, at least I now know what to expect, and if I am all alone I will play loud music straight from my phone...
I have Trowse 10k on the 17th (Norwich) and Great Yarmouth 5 miler on 20th,just hoping Iβm going to be ok for Trowse next week as I have Covid at the moment π³
