This morning I wanted to do a guided run from the NRC app, but I couldn't find them!
The app opened with only the 'quickstart' tab showing. No sign of the guided runs or training plans tabs. I tried switching my phone on and off with no joy. Later I tried logging out of the app, but that just sent it into an infinite spin. I tried 'force stop' on the app with a delete of all cache data. Nothing worked. In the end I uninstalled the app, reinstalled and logged back in and all is fine, as per the photo.
This has definitely happened to me once before (when I was in the middle.of a training plan). Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any idea what went wrong or how to get it back - other than a reinstall!

I've had the training plan tab vanish on me a few times, I've never been entirely sure what's going on but sometimes forcing the app to stop and then reopening it helps.
OK thanks. Unfortunately that didn't work today for me and I can't remember what I did last time it happened. At that time I was just glad my training plan progress hadn't totally disappeared!
How strange. I use NRC every run I do and in three years, touch wood, have never had any issues with it glitching or losing data. Did your data / training plan come back? I'm middle of the HM one now, week 8,, and I'd be gutted if it dropped off all my training runs to date! When you set it in the end, did you set it with your own intervals? I've not discovered how to do that in NRC, only using one of the guided runs.
When I had to reinstall last time, I was very relieved to find it had saved all my runs and progress. I guess that is saved elsewhere under your account rather than in the app itself, so don't worry on that score!I'm not following an NRC plan this time, but I am using some of the guided runs for variety and motivation. Today I just wanted to do a speed run around 5k long, but didn't need it to be recorded in the app as such. So I very quickly changed the lap alerts on my garmin to every 500m instead of every km, and decided to do 1k warm up and could down, with three intervals of 500m fast, 500m recovery. Very simple, but at least it made me concentrate on pace and switch it up a bit! I was desperately short of time so didn't have the resource (either mental or technological) to be any more creative!
I use the interval guided runs and I love them! I previously downloaded an intervals app but get on with the NRC ones really well. It lets me concentrate on just running. The coaching is really supportive, like the other day when I thought I might quit
No that’s never happened to me Linda - how frustrating. I did lose all my downloaded runs once during an update of either apple or NRC which was a tad annoying as the phone signal wasn’t good enough to download another one before my run.
I do like Coach Bennett, he took me for a nice easy 40 minutes this evening. I had to have an excuse to wear the lovely proviz top Santa brought me. 🤣🤣. I have to say, I was suitably reflective.
Oh yes those proviz tops are pretty full on aren't they! You'll be safe with that! I've gone off the NRC guided runs for my long runs, but I really appreciate them for interval training - takes my mind off what I'm doing, breaks everything into small chunks and focuses you to think on small sections really well. On top of that, there are so many varieties of speed run too that it really keeps it interesting, and stops me constantly comparing to the last run of the same intervals! Glad you haven't had any such glitch, long may it continue
Oh no misswobble. Valentine’s Day is next though - time to start hinting again. Having said that, mine was 25% off in November. Quite expensive at full price.
There was a post on Bridge last week about problems with NRC healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... and when I looked on Google Play I saw a lot of disgruntled comments since the last update
I'll take a look, thanks. I did google missing guided runs a couple of times but couldn't find anything useful at the time. But that's generally what happens when I'm rushing 🤣
Hi, I posted last week about it, Coach Bennett and NIKE customer service were really helpful, turns out it was because I had put VPN on my phone, it won't work apparently with the NRC app.
It happens regularly and you fear for your data. I guess it’s secure on their servers 🤞. I had real trouble retrieving my two runs the other day, just the whirring of the screen for ages. I came out of the app for a while, and it was all ok when I went back to it later. They’re in the process of deleting old guided runs for new ones, plus new gear is arriving, so maybe they're busy updating the whole shebang.
I fired up the app shortly after I posted and I thought the guided runs had disappeared. I left the wheel turning while I got ready and it was all there by the time I was dressed. Maybe the app is get too unwieldy. 🤷♀️
Hi, I had real problem with the NRC app when I updated it a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't open the app at all , kept getting an error message. I actually contacted Coach Bennett himself and he put me in contact with Nike customer services. The problem was because I had added VPN to my phone and apparently the Nike app won't run with VPN turned on.
So just thought if you have VPN on your phone, you may want to turn it off whilst you use the NRC app.
As far as I know I haven't done that! And my issue does sound slightly different. Presumably it wouldn't have worked after a reinstall if VPN was the issue? How did you contact Nike?
I have just called their helpline. The lady talked about making sure I had anu up to date version of android and an up to date version of the app and that was all the troubleshooting she could do 😍 As it worked after a reinstall of the app, the version of android was clearly not the issue. As I have reinstalled the app there is no point in me checking that as it will be the most up to date version now anyway. As far as I know all my apps update automatically but I can have a check I guess. So that wasn't the most productive call 🤣
Was that the UK customer service? My conversation via twitter was the US team I think and they were really helpful. I think they have done something to the app when they updated it as I didn't have any trouble until I updated it on my phone. Fingers crossed, when I turn off my VPN it works.🏃♀️
I have a feeling they updated the app fairly recently - all my saved runs disappeared and the format seemed slightly different. They also added quite a few more runs, some in German which I’ve not tried yet 🤣. I hope you’ve managed to sort it.
I’m doing Nike marathon plan and finding that many guided runs aren’t available - even speed intervals! What! 🤷♀️😤
I delved into the guided runs section of the app and log and behold the 38 min run intervals guided run was there but it’s not linking to the marathon plan
I don’t do twitter but I’ve commented on AppStore
I’m just off for my long run (16k) and it’s not linked to the plan 😏
I couldn't find the run I wanted today, other than by going to 'all runs' and then scrolling down the list. 'm not using a plan at the moment so can't comment on the linking issue ...
Most of my runs on this week’s plan weren’t linked I deleted and reinstalled the app last night and it’s all back now as it should be. I thought the recent app update by Nike might have addressed the issue but sadly not
However, I still couldn’t get the downloaded run to work yesterday so I had to enter the details from Garmin this morning 😤
Ten miles done, much of which in a tech-induced rage 😁
