As I set out tonight I just thought to myself, 'Deano, running is a gift.'
Going along the roads in the dark and ice cold, I treated my run with the reverence it deserved. How lucky are we to run? 1 mile or 10, fast or steady it doesn't matter. Running is our gift to ourselves and I'm going to do my best to remember every time I lace up. π

Completely agree! When I started the c25k last January after a long injury, I savoured every minute of running, grateful I was able to run again. I liked your post, itβs a great reminder that we are v lucky to be able to run, and the desire to get out there!
It is! I'm so grateful that I went on the c25k journey and can do something I never felt capable of before. I am not doing any running at the moment but just knowing I can and will is amazing.
Absolutely- I get this every morning when I manage to do a sunrise run - yes Iβm slow back of the pack runner - but the pure thrill of being alive in that moment gets me every time ππ
After recently coming off the injury couch for the second time I am in full appreciation mode & very grateful to be able to run, even if I am having to keep it short & slow for now π
My fave running quote so far:
'Running is a favour your body does for your soul'
Better late than never ππ. Like you, I left it late, but am making up for lost time πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
