Del Shannon !π. Great instrumental in there too! Superb π
OMG The Ventures (screams) Iβm dancing in my kitchen. I love those guitar bands, The Shads and Tornadoes etc. π. The Vβs did a version of Wipe Out π. Mind you, who didnβt π
I had some fab uns White pvc calf ones with inset coloured diamond shapes up the side. I was inspired by Emma Peel π. My burgundy suede over the knee jobs were just beautiful. See Middle of the Road Soley Soley. Sheβs in her white ones here but this is the style. Wish I still had them π₯°
Iβm currently off running as I have been unwell plus the osteopath has banned me too. Assuming Iβm feeling better, I would like Tom Petty I Wonβt Back Down π
Thanks Abi Iβm going to be fine. Iβve just got a stinking cold. Iβll be out again as soon as osteopath gives me the green light. Iβve been advised to join a gym but I detest those sweaty βorrible places. π€·ββοΈ
I saw Paul several times. Loved his Graceland Tour. Iβve got the drumming one from his Brazilian Rhythm of the saints album on my playlist. Drums always help things along I find π. I love his Duncan from Bookends π Still Crazy is my all-time fave though
Thatβs the one! I loved that show π. All about percussion. He had a Brazilian guy (I think) who had the stage full of it and he moved amongst it like a dancer. Awesome stuff I was fortunate on the Graceland tour to see Ladysmith, Hugh Masekele and Miriam Makebe.
My great nephew, age 6 is a drummer/percussionist in the making. Heβs done his first exams and has been in the local band for a few years already. He ran to me excitedly last week to tell me heβs learning a new piece, and itβs one of your favourites, auntie! It goes aaaaaaaaaha ah! aaaaaaaha ah! Yup Led Zep πΆπ΅π. Heβs showing signs of enjoying running too.
I love Kashmir! I use it for slowly climbing big hills It makes me laugh as I sing,βValhalla I am com-ing!β ππͺπββοΈ
Got Rock n roll, whole Lotta Love, and a real fave is When the Levee Breaksπ When the levee breaks mama you got to move πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Hello roseabi ! I've already replied to Linda elsewhere but have thought of some more. The bpm are all over the shop, sorry, but here goes:
Don Henley - Boys of Summer (177 bpm)
Jackson Browne - Running on Empty (136 bpm)
Boston - More than a Feelin' (109 bpm)
Joan Armatrading - Drop the Pilot (128 bpm)
P!nk - Raise your Glass (122 bpm) or So What (126bpm)
Celia Cruz - La Vida es un Carnaval (104 bpm)
Stromae - Papaoutai (116 bpm)
David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium (126 bpm)
Black Eyed Peas - Gotta Feeling (128 bpm)
Mud - Tiger Feet (186 bpm, as double-time)
Status Quo - Caroline (154 bpm)
Bowie -The Jean Genie (129bpm)
The Sweet - Ballroom Blitz (109 bpm, or 218bpm if you're feeling brave!)
And, just to make everyone's heads really explode, my wonderful late brother-in-law's choice for the final song at his funeral, which I use as a warm-up and/or if I need kick-up-the-backside motivation:
The Wombles - Remember you're a Womble (136 bpm)
I could go on but will spare you. Actually I listen to a lot of sacred choral music from the Renaissance when running!
They were minuetting in the morning, in the evening,
They were minutetting mad.
Mr minuetting Mozart was the talk of the town,
And forgetting to be minuetting was letting the other minuetters down.
Now Womble to your partners,
Young Wombles were told
If you minuetto allegretto you will live to be old!
What is really concerning is that I just typed all that from memory. I can still sing the bloody thing as well. Yet I don't own any Wombles records (only downloaded Remember you're a Womble for the Spring HUHM because I was running it for the hospice that cared for Paul ) and never have.
Love The Eagles completely. Doolin Dalton π₯° and Desperado π₯°π₯°. I still have my vinyl π. I bought Best of the Eagles album via a club we ran at work. Happy days π
My playlist isnβt on Spotify. Itβs one Iβve put together on Amazon Music. The HU playlist will be on Spotify though. It sounds like itβs going to be a great playlist!
Love Creedence! Iβve got several of theirs on my playlist. Run through the Jungle is my current favourite. I enjoy singing to the tongue-twister that is Travellin Band π
Iβve got Ride a a white Swan on vinyl which my mum bought me π. Interesting flip side where he covers Summertime Blues and Is it Love Great stuff from them as per I have Hot Love on my playlist π
Every time I hear Ride a White Swan, I'm 13 years old dancing around the science lab at school. I've told my kids I want it played at my funeral (I'm hoping they remember in 40 years time. π)
I have a few on my Spotify playlist which always help: Lust for Life by Mr. Iggy Pop (tends to make me speed up/keep going just when I need it), Sabotage by the Beasties, and some drum 'n bass (Blood Sugar by Pendulum is a good one). For random stupidity, I have Γa Plane Pour Moi by Plastic Bertrand - I can't explain, but it just seems to work! Also lots of disco - just because πΊπππ
