I'll do a proper race report another time, but just wanted to let you know that I completed the Trail du Gévaudan. While it was supposedly the 42.2km marathon distance, everyone's watches and phones said more!
Walked a lot, given that it was almost all on trails. Chip time was 9:05:05, which includes stops at feeding stations. For context, the overall winner (Male Senior category) ran it in 3:52.
Garmin - started earlier than the chip, but auto-paused at one feeding station - says 46.07km, 9:01:39, 11:45/km pace. And elevation gain? Well, that came in at 1777m.
And being an idiot, I forgot to pick up my drop bag! Will have to contact organisers.

Wow Cmoi, that was a very good run/walk you had today, congratulations, a pity about not picking up your dropbag, I used to bike ride the marathon distance years ago, even as a keen walker, I never walked, let alone ran that distance, once again well done.
I hope you're feeling mighty proud!!! That is a truly amazing achievement! I daresay you're feeling relieved too. And as for all those freedom runs that lie ahead ... well, maybe they can wait a few days! Congratulations!!!
Amazing! Congratulations! I was just wondering if it was this weekend that you were due to take part. I hope you will have recovered from your exertions in time to celebrate your birthday in style!
