Out for a run yesterday, I was approaching a small bridge made of two planks of wood. Unfortunately, what I thought was solid ground turned out to be greenery on the sloping bank. I found this out when I used it as a step. Over I went and I seem to have twisted my ankle.
It didn't feel too bad at first so I walked the 11k back to my car. With hindsight, that was a bad decision.
Planning on going to the minor injuries clinic later to check that it isn't anything more serious but I think my event at the end of August is a write off ☹.
Think I might be spending some time swimming with a float because that's the only exercise I can think of that won't aggravate my ankle.
Anyhow the view over Bristol was good!

Oh no! It’s so easily done, I twisted my ankle stepping onto a tiny titchy kerb wrongly so I know how it feels. Calves are the thing SM, when you can stretch out those calves regularly. Apparently any ankle issues make calves tighten.
I do hope you’re not out of training for too long 🤞You might be able to cycle once it feels a bit better.
Oh no. You're having more than your fair share of bad luck just now. Hopefully it is just bruising and will heal fast, but getting it checked has to be the right thing to do. Keeping fingers crossed for you.
Oh no SkiMonday , I hope your trip to the minor injuries clinic didn’t show up anything too bad. You were doing so well with your distance running. Rest well
Hope it heals quicker than you expect, but so frustrating for you. That is a lovely view. On a clear day we can see the severn bridge from our hills so maybe you can see our hills!
Oh man! 🙈🙈🙈 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for a full recovery, if not in time for Green Man at least ASAP. Maybe you could drop to one of the shorter distances for the GM so as not to miss out completely...
