Happy New Year friends, I hope you all had fun seeing off 2020. π₯ π Ours was very quiet, but enjoyable, watching Jools Holland and supping Baileys, but it meant I was fresh enough for todayβs kickstart to 2021.
Soooo, hereβs what Iβm up to this month:
- Continuing on with LEJOG4 πββοΈ (Currently close to Glasgow)
- Starting Route 66 πββοΈ (Just left the diner!)
-Doing the Simply Health Solo January Accumulator πββοΈ
- Embarking on Adrieneβs latest 30 days of yoga challenge βBreathβ π§ββοΈ
- And a last minute decision yesterday to do RED January. πββοΈ (My first ever RED attempt)
I started with a little 2k run and a 5.5k dog walk today. Luckily these can apply to all the challenges (except yoga of course!) so Flossie and I are off the mark. ππΎ
Bring on this year. π
Stay safe, stay happy and stay running. β€οΈ

I feel worn out just reading that list Cheeky! A lady with energy to burn. I haven't thought beyond get some K's done without messing up my calf again. The fittest chipmunk in the west ππππππ₯
I just canβt say no to bling BC! π Granted I get none for yoga or RED, and I wonβt get my Route 66 bling for nearly 2 years - but even so, itβs the thrill of the chase! πββοΈπββοΈ
Hope your calf behaves this year. Thereβs running to be done! πββοΈ
Thanks Katnap! It just kind of happened. Until I got the email from Great Run Solo reminding me that today was the day, Iβd forgotten Iβd even entered that one, and RED only became an idea yesterday. Hey ho, if you canβt beat βem, join βem (and I certainly canβt beat anyone! π€£)
Itβs a surprising list isnβt it Dexy? I didnβt realise Iβd signed up for so much, but itβs all doable (touch wood! π€)
Iβm soo hoping we can run together in London. We have a cheerleader - Mr Cheeky and I are seeing Hamilton on the 29th so will be staying over. We can spend the day in London on the 30th and meet you all in the evening! (Again, touching wood frantically! π€π€π€)
Haha, oh donβt worry Jonathan, the mileage can be applied to all the challenges and I do yoga anyway! Iβm not as bonkers as all that (some might disagree! π )
Happy 2021 to you, and I hope to see you at some point. π€π€
Have you Sandie? Yay! I think youβll enjoy it. Iβve been following Adriene for 3 years and Iβm a convert. Iβm so much more flexible than I used to be, and Iβm convinced itβs helped with my running. π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
So much so, that I just looked up the Route 66 challenge. I've always wanted to drive Route 66 so I am quite taken with the idea...I've never done a virtual challenge like this but it seems like a good idea for motivation. The only thing that troubles me is that on the website it appears you have 18 months max to complete the challenge. At 30 miles a week, I'm not sure I'll make it. Although maybe with walking and running I might I suppose...
π€ I guess that's the point to push yourself to do more!!!How have you found Lejog? Did that have a deadline too? Forgive my ignorance
Hi Celeriac, Iβm doing the End to End Running version of Route 66, as is David_G , and we get 2 years. Maybe you were looking at a different one? Iβm thinking 2 years is doable, at least I hope it is! π
Just noticed you asked about Lejog Celeriac . Iβm loving it - also an End to End challenge so luckily my miles can count towards both. I have another 3 months or so until I reach JOG. Itβs fun getting the postcards! π
Ah.....I was looking at theconquerer events as it popped up first on Google. Yours is the next one down. I'll check it out now. That does sound more doable. 18 months wasn't really - at least for me!
