Cambridge Half - pat yourself on the back!

Hello fellow Cambridge Halfers! What a day it was. Perfect weather, incredible support round the whole route. Some undignified shuffling by me in the last couple of miles but hell, I crossed that line! Well done to anyone who took part/volunteered. It all came together to make for a very memorable first (and maybe last!) half for me!

Well done. What a fantastic time. I was very slow yesterday but had a great day. The weather couldn't have been better and I loved the course. My first time in Cambridge so everything was new to me. Nice flat course too which always makes me happy.

Weather was perfect for running and bringing out the support! It was my first half but I live in Cambridge so was a joy to run past all my familiar places and discover bits of the city I didn’t know so well. I hit the ten mile wall but plenty of familiar faces in the crowd kept me going, so nearly stopped and I don’t think I would have got started again! Flat, yes, a real bonus. Well done!

Hey (waves) 👋, what a brilliant time, well done you! Me and OH got round in 2:32 which I’m very happy with (a PB for me for cambridge) have a headcold - which I’m thankful to say was finally on its way out Saturday.....I sort of ran out of steam a bit by about 11miles, and must admit didn’t feel too clever for a little while after I finished, due to the headcold/sinuses etc., but am fine now.

It was a fab event, great volunteers, great support, the waves worked really well, the new route was lovely and so far the photos we’re getting are fantastic (backdrop of kings and senate house)

I’ll do a report in a bit, but I think the whole event was a great success.

Very very well done Madge, you did brilliantly and that’s a cracking time with or without a head cold! Hope you’re feeling fully recovered now and ready to sign up again next year - we will run it together eventually! 👍

Hey Madge!! Well done!! Likewise, I had the lurgy last week and also ran out of steam up Trumpington Road but amazing crowds kept me going. My head was very swimming at the end! It was a super event.

How are you getting photos? Are they the official ones? I can’t access them - it forces me to share on Facebook but I can’t see what it’s going to share in advance which is slightly scary!!

You get the option on Facebook to keep the photos private so only you can see them.

Hi there, yes they are the official ones, we’re not on FB but I get daughter, who is on FB, to get them, she’ll then send them on to us, apparently they’ll email her as more become available.

So far I’m really impressed, when we went round Kings, I thought, I have to look at all this, I might not get the chance again, but the photos are great, Kings and senate house in the background, and some next to the Cam....and there’s loads.....

I don’t think she’s had any issues with the ‘share’ thing......but, I don’t really know how it works......

Ages ago, an event we did, did the same thing, FB only for photos and I did create a FB account then deleted it once I’d got them.
