Looking out of my window now, all the weather warnings pinging onto my phone seem a bit farfetched--it's lovely out there! Crossed fingers it stays that way π€

There'll be no decency once the wind gets up those poodles' skirts!
I wasn't too happy when LWR suggested bag drop may not happen in case the wind blows the marquee away .... but then when they said temporary toilets will be affected too I went into panic mode - well, I told everyone what happened last weekend, that's still a very raw memory π¨π¨π¨. Here's hoping it will still be fun; thanks for the shout out π. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend - and for those of you racing on Sunday (as LWR put it) you will be able to wear your badge of honour with pride π₯
Best of luck to all you runners! πππΌπ Bad weather is almost unbelievable at the moment, so hope thatβs right and the forecasters are wrong for once.
My race is still planned for Sunday but we have had an email to say that they may decide to cancel on the day depending on how bad thing get. If it does go ahead I am going to be going slow and steady and use as a recovery run as now I am doing a 20 miler in March my running plan has changed and tomorrow is a 13 mile long run for me.
Thanks Sqkr ! The organisers are going to make a decision tomorrow whether mine is going ahead. At the minute Iβm planning that it does but who knows..... π€πββοΈπ
Good luck everyone and letβs hope there will be some races done!
I'm quite pleased to be honest. I was only doing this one for the fun of a big London event. It would've been memorable, but not in the way I'd been hoping.
Mine cancelled but my local trail running group still doing the route (it was an informal race!) But they are the speedier ones so a group of the slower ones are doing it in reverse and crossing over ! Unless the weatheris toooo crazy! Will report back! Good luck at all who are still racing xxx
Pompoms waving in the wind for anyone still able to run on Sunday. π€ π No London Winter Run for us on Sunday, unfortunately - so back to the muddy trails tomorrow for me. Have a good weekend, all!π
Mine has been cancelled too βΉοΈ Iβm really disappointed because it was going to be a good test run for the Bath HM and it was a 10th anniversary for the event so there was a specially minted medal. But theyβve agreed that we can claim our medal by running a virtual 10 mile run anywhere in Wiltshire before the end of March. I was going to head out today but realised I run mostly in Gloucestershire π€ ..... mmnnn....
