Hope it doesn't put you all off......

As I don't subscribe to The Independent so I could only read the first 9 lines, but I got the gist of it, for anyone running at all, even just 5K let alone a marathon, they just cannot go out and run, a good example of that was a report I heard during the televising of the Great North Run, the commentator said that 57,000 had registered but 42,000 had begun the race, that's a lot to 'chicken out' 15,000, but what was even more interesting was that by the time the runners had crossed the famous Tyne Bridge many more had not even got that far, the Tyne Bridge isn't even 5k into the race, that's a lot to learn the hard way, all people who wish to run must start with courses like C25K, just to go out and run anything more than a 500 metres or longer is risking injury.
Wish I could read it (can't be bothered to register). I could swear I read something similar/the same a while back.
It didnt let me read the whole thing but from the short clip I read, I think: I cant bear it when people who dont like running post about doing stupid things to make a point. If you dont like running, dont do it mate. GRRRRR
