It was freezing tonight, I really struggled to work out what to wear but went with a base layer and my club top with a hat and gloves... the first mile I was freezing but then I soon warmed up.
Tonight was my first 10k trail run (although garmin has recorded slightly short of that) and the first run I have done where it is 2 laps. The mental challenge of going round again after knowing how high the steps were, how steep the hills were going to be and how muddy it was going to get was a real battle for me.
However I did it and I loved it and I am over the moon with my time as my PB for a 10k on the flat is 1hr 8!
Next race isn’t until 9th Feb so I have a few weeks of training ahead and plan on doing a very steady 10 miles (first one) next Friday. For now my legs have earned a rest and tomorrow they are going for a walk to keep them loose.
Loving these trail runs though

So I had my gloves on over my longsleeved, thumbholed top. Got to the start line. Then major panic. I remember now: toasty or switch your watch on Linda. Which is it to be? Only seconds to the start. What to do? Ripped gloves off and stuffed them in a pocket. Wrestled thumb out, wrestled watch out and crossed the mat all discombobulated - but with watch safely started! Bloomin' cold weather!
