I joined the AC who organised the C25K programme that I did a year ago. If you register for a run as an AC member you MUST run in your club kit. English Athletics rules!

The £2 I saved was spent on the bus trip. It's a point to point race so we parked at the finish and took a bus to the start.

how do you find waterproof socks? I am looking at socks for winter and couldn't decide whether waterproof ones would hold the sweat in as well as the water out

After the halfway mark I was thankful for keeping to one layer. The rain held off for a bit and I soon felt hot!

I have some Dex Shell thermal waterproof socks. The toweling inner helps with reducing the boil in a bag feeling.

Seat Skinz are the known brand for waterproof socks, gloves, hats but they're usually mega money unless on a deal / sale.

Shop around and there are other options!

I saw some that were sort of wet suit material, they seemed ever so thick.

I have fairly loose fitting shoes so I have no problems with the thicker fabric.

I think there's a bamboo based waterproof sock for warmer conditions that is thinner.
