First long run with the new shoes (Brooks again, the updated model of my old ones which have given me black nails so being retired). I wondered if the dieing cushioning could be antagonising the knee which has been painful (tore one of the ligaments in it a couple years ago and still plays up) so decided to buy new ones.
The run was warm, with muggy weather. Did 5 miles mostly uphill with no severe pain. And mid run the pain subsided. The downhill made it worse but there isn't much downhill in the GNR.
Running back, I got to 4 miles before having to walk it a bit but the run back is mostly down hill. Had some pain on the inside of the foot afterwards but think that is due to the poor foot placement when knee hurts.
The photo shows my new shoes and the various tan marks from knee supports.
Upto £400 fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity. Next week need to letter my top the just do some short runs.
Looking forwards to it now and it being over if that makes sense.
I also have a hospital appointment for assessment for a new hearing aid which needs an operation so that will be interesting. Also been given a date for November which I think is the operation date. That is going to be interesting. Busy week for me next week xx
