So after much deliberation, I have deferred my half marathon place (no medal this year). The Achilles isn’t getting any better and after having Tendonitis in it a few years ago and not being able to run for 3 months, I am not going down that road again. I have decided to stop before it becomes chronic.
I am a little bit disappointed but I love running and don’t want to sacrifice that for one race. There is always next year, and I can swim and cross train to try to maintain some of my current fitness in the meantime. Good luck to everyone in the forthcoming races, I will be cheering from the couch for a few weeks x

Sorry to hear this!!!! Sounds like you're making a good call and I hope you enjoy your swimming until fit to run again. What about some swimming races? xxxx
Well done for making a tough decision! You're obviously aware of the need to avoid making injuries worse so I'll avoid that topic. Hope you're back off the IC soon!
That’s a shame Aldlib, but it sounds like a very wise decision. You want to come back fighting fit and injury free, and running your HM might have scuppered your running for a long time to come.
Enjoy your other activities. Your runs will still be there for you. 👍
Thank you. I think injuries seem to come with the territory of running as there is usually a few of us on the IC at some time or another. But it’s all learning.
