6:02 /k by MapMyFitness (as my Garmin totally failed to find satellites). Which I’m more than pleased with as the weather was much warmer and muggier than the runs when I’ve done my best times, and I thought I was doing really badly.

I won’t be doing Parkrun next weekend as I have my son staying and he’s currently on crutches after a wrecking his knee playing tag rugby.

A very paltry 24.7k for me, I’m afraid. The weather really interfered with my plans last week.

Well done, that's great work in adverse conditions xxx

132.6k from me , of which 18k running, rest walking

GoGo_JoJo profile image
GoGo_JoJoUltramarathon in reply to Setters

That's some serious walking! What area do you get to enjoy?

Setters profile image
SettersHalf Marathon in reply to GoGo_JoJo

Forest of Dean mainly which is where I live. Go out twice a day with my two Irish Setters, even if we all go for a late morning run they still expect an afternoon walk and won’t settle for anything else πŸ™„πŸ˜± Not sure what I do when we make our half marathon distance attempt, don’t think they will go very far that day, or should that be I won’t go very far that afternoon πŸ˜‚

GoGo_JoJo profile image
GoGo_JoJoUltramarathon in reply to Setters

Fantastic! I think you'll surprise yourself, so long as you take it steady as with the rest its really not that daunting. It's far more an endurance thing but with the dogs to keep you company that will be a big help (I got a bit bored around mile 8 on my first one). A varied and interesting route is also useful πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

Setters profile image
SettersHalf Marathon in reply to GoGo_JoJo

Agree with the route, can’t imagine anything more soul destroying than doing laps. Presently am trying to plan route avoiding too many hills, which is not easy in the Forest.πŸ€”

GoGo_JoJo profile image

Gradual hills not too bad, just avoid anything too gnarly πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

Hi Rosabi

I have it all confused, but running and walking up until last night I was at 150km for August plus 1K swimming according to my "steps" app on my phone. Some hasn't been tracked because I didn't have my phone but that's what I have.

I have been on holiday and haven't been checking the website and forgot to give you my figures

I will note better for this week

roseabi profile image

Only distance (again 😣) for me, I'm afraid. Stupid half marathon! I am going to do a solo speed challenge when it's over...

Run/walk/cycle combined gives (18.5/25/20) 63.5 km.

Ok. I did 24k running - only 2 runs last week but one was 19k! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Walking I did approximately 15k - forgot to set Garmin on one, but I know it’s a 3k route more or less. πŸ˜€

I’m not sure that I logged the week before. Should I comment on here, or go back to find last week’s post? Sorry, useless me! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

12 - 18 Aug

Speed challenge: 5:14/km

Distance challenge: 59.7km (running)

So, that's 9s faster. The distance went up because I added some easy runs on my gap days; after some discussion, it's going to be quite a while until I run that far in a week again!

Thanks for adjusting the moon colour πŸ§€πŸŒ

Not sure if you’ve updated my W2 tally roseabi (I commented earlier), but I made a mistake and miscalculated my walking tally. I actually walked 20k (I missed out my grass cutting!!) πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

So 16k running and 20k walking. πŸ˜€

roseabi profile image

Sorry my distance and speed is dwindling each week! Mainly due to hip and heel woes. But still...

Total distance: 23.7k (runs: 9.6k and walks 14.1k)

Speed: 5.42

I have a feeling osteo will tell me to give running a break when I see him on Friday so I may not be able to add much next week. But I will still add my walks!

Speed challenge: Think I need to skip the rest of this!

Distance challenge: 6.14km

I'm posting early because I don't think I'll be adding any more distance for a while. Maybe I'm being too flippant about this but I'm going to be grounded for a while due to having a heart attack yesterday. As per my "Mega Hurrumph" post, the outlook looks good.

SkiMonday profile image

Thanks. I fully intend to keep posting. Being in the right place (hospital) I'm really relaxed about this. My HM at the end of September is looking somewhat unlikely now. I guess there's a possibility that my first event will be a full marathon (but I wouldn't put money on that right now)!
