Been trying to get focused on the task.Been out mapping a joined up warm- up, route to allow me to get 3x500m splits in and catch a 200m segment Crown on the outward 1.3 k leg in addition to recording an improved split for the SSC.
The musings bit is also important, perhaps more so but it can be time consuming and even as or more daunting.
Was just thinking when you are a beginner/ novice and indeed your own coach is there little wonder itβs demanding.
Opportunities galore, choices available, decisions to make on important fitness, health issues and well being.
Here are some of my decisions made just recently, just today actuallyππ€£,
1)After 5 years gym membership and attending daily, except nil attendance in the last 7 months, no point now.Read too much good stuff from professional coaches/runners from links on here, concluded not for me and I can always rejoin.
2) Having been put in a position of informed choice by my gp re cholesterol medication, comparing NICE guidelines with Dr Malcolm Kendrickβs research work, will stick with max dose until latest end of 2019 before I probably after further re- reading will remove myself from taking it.
By the way here is something for everyone in the world. It happens each 1000 years.
Add your present age ,just years , to the year of your birth, all four numbers, everyoneβs adds upto 2019.eg. A one year old toddler born 2018 and so on.π€π€£π€£ππ
Many other musings, but not going to bore you.
Crack on all you folks on the forum with your plans and challenges.
I think it is really difficult at times to choose direction/focus. It's so easy to get lost down one rabbit hole or another.
Will you miss your gym sessions? There's also a social aspect to gym-going over solitary running and especially as we age social connects are so important.
There's so much info out there on medications, even the ones supplied in the box! It's a minefield and no one seems to have all the answers. Hopefully you can get rid of them feel good for it ππ»
The age trick only works if you've had this year's birthday...π
Wonβt miss it Jo.Not been going. We are all different with different needs,Ben Greenfield,Pete Magill some others show what runners need.Of course core strength, etc, but can be achieved outside a gym.Personally my graft in the garden eg has put me in a surprising place and I have not ran seriously for 2 months.
The social side is important, loneliness is a killer, but you have to find yourself first from within,ππ€, heavy I know, there is no point in being influenced by non like minded people who also do not know themselves.Sounds harsh and brevity puts it badly.π.Small price to pay. After watching James Lawrence and others.Simple and mind blowing.
Spent my life, when you think about it,we all do conforming , bending ,pleasing, etc, etc,
not a rebel, never too late to go on a journey Jo.
Hope your good.
For me quality not quantity, will follow you Mrsβ .See if I can knock off a few.β myself.
Loneliness is a killer, you're right. It hurts to see so many just needing a friend. But you're absolutely right, find yourself and you then tend to attract the right kind of people ππ»
I have no doubt you'll get those βββππ»π
