I have registered for a scheduled blood donation on first week of may. Curious to know how long should I wait/rest before hitting my running track again? Are 1-2 days enough?
I donated blood before so I don't have any myth about it in my mind, it's was BAU for me after each donation but I was not a runner than. Now I am running since last few months and going as long as 11-12 km, so wants to know if it will impact anything if I run as my regular routine or should wait.

I really need to start donating again but the sessions near me are such crap timings. I was always told your body is back to normal within 24 hrs so 1 to 2 days should be fine unless you're feeling particulary peaky. Don't forget to increase hydration in those 24hrs following donation though.
I think it depends on myriad factors to be honest. I think you're officially fine to get back to it pretty quickly and should be back on form after a day or so, but on one occasion it really knocked me sideways for about a week--I didn't stop exercising but was just so tired and weak and useless. It's not a problem for training of course, I just lowered my targets a bit, but worth bearing in mind if you have any events lined up close to future blood donor sessions!
