Have to say doesn't make ultra's sound like a fun hobbie
Anyone else read "Beyond impossible" ... - Fun Beyond 10K & ...
Anyone else read "Beyond impossible" by Mimi Anderson?
I have read it. It didn't put me off ultras per se, but I wouldn't want to take part in any of the ones she highlights in that book!!! π
Yep - I am. She also gave a speech in a school nearby that I missed
I've seen her on twitter being very humble about taking advice for swimming as she is starting on triathlon - she seems like a very nice person, who obviously is an amazing athlete!
Are ultras a fun hobby?
Iβve not read this one but my trail friends are trying to convince me to try an ultra but I like my toenails actually on my feet ππ¦Ά
I was supposed to be doing one in May but events have conspired to make it not happen. Next year! π At least I have another year to prepare
Iβm not going to read that book in case it puts me off. Iβve looked at the reviews of it on kindle π
She is pretty extreme. First one she did was after only doing a half and was one of the hardest in the world. I have friends that do and enjoy them. But I think I am strictly a half girl!
Itβs about four months but you can pull in other race distances at the same time ππββοΈ
I am doing a few halfs this year
My fiancee's sister does a lot of them. She's addicted. She'll run 3 times a day if she gets the chance. She's just done 50 miles over the last weekend in March then another 30 on the 6th of April.
Last year she suffered a stress fracture halfway through the Speyside Way Ultra 37m. She completed anyway, walking/hobbling and still came in faster than her previous time there which was her first Ultra at 6:50 V 7:17.
She is a scary lady! π€£
