I see there are already quite a few race reports up - speedy work, well done! Keep em coming ๐
I hope everyone who ran in an event this weekend is feeling OK today and resting well. I recommend taking a walk (or join Oldfloss for a short run if you feel inclined - go Floss!) to get those sore joints and muscles moving. Drink plenty of water, and eat loads of lovely food of course why not? You have a great excuse ๐
And look at a relaxing picture of kittens.
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion ๐
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Happy running, awesome people!

I'm back! What an excellent batch of runs ๐ By sad comparison I didn't do anything at all this weekend, Mr Sqkr and I ended up visiting his brother in Dunbar. I need to get a long run or two in over the next two weeks but haven't yet assigned specific days for them, I've got a 10k trail and then Edinburgh Half coming up so really need to think about that and keep it in my sights!
Had a moment on Saturday where I received an email from the Kilomathon saying to download my race pack, and had to go back through my emails to see if I'd signed up for it and forgottenโbut luckily I think it's just their database getting overexcited. I hope. Never expected to be in a position where I've signed up to so many runs I can't keep track...
I would just like to say well done to every who completed their HM this weekend I'm beginning to think i'll never get there so quite envious but hope you all enjoyed ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
On Friday I finished a big job, which kept me from running for several weeks. I celebrated by driving down to Gothenburg with the family, and touristing at parkrun. It was pretty obvious that I have a lot of retraining to do! Anyway, I'm continuing my "celebration" by flying to London, to do Bushy parkrun on Saturday. I'll be on my own this time. I'm staying in Teddington, so I should be able to manage a run on Thursday as well.
Just carrying on with my HM plan. We had some lovely spring like weather so enjoyed running in lighter gear this week, zigzagging all over trying to avoid flooded pathways. Got out to the lake yesterday and went for a nice long walk through the campgrounds. Didn't get into the hills.....yet...... but managed no ticks on our expedition through the tall grass trying to get back to the trails ๐ . Hoping after the extended deep freeze we had this winter, the tick numbers will be knocked down a bit ๐ค
Nothing much to report. Been out for a jog this morning It was windy but dry. Yay ๐๐. Week two of my latest plan Back out there tomorrow ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
No time for R&R; dog demanded a walk, customers demanded their gardens be tidied .... eventually managed a lovely slow, stretchy swim late this afternoon. Have 11k to run this week to complete my 100km for this month, and have three weeks to put by without injury til my second half. Think it will be a harder one than this weekend - far less supporters and entertainment, only two water stations not four (my psychological breaks) and no-one to run with or support me, so planning on taking it easy (though with only 675 entrants I'm not sure how serious it will be - I may well be last!). Definitely enjoying the nicer weather
Like several of us, last week was a taper for yesterdayโs race. I did not sleep well all week - probably due to lack of exercise!! ๐ Anyway, the HM went well - I managed a pb and today I seem to have done 4 miles walking and 2miles gentle running to loosen up a bit. Looking forward to resuming normal weekly mileage in a few days ๐
Wow so many races this last weekend! Still not finished going through them all, but huge congrats to everyone that raced! I am in my taper week now and did an 18 yesterday in the sunshine with a couple of run pals and it was really good. Just came home from a short 6k this aft again in the sun (loving this new sun thing!) and going to try and take it easier this week while I get myself organized for Sunday. I'm driving some friends from the run group down so I'll need to have myself sorted by Sat. I have a list...
All the half marathon reports were inspiring. I ran 9 miles last weekend (it is such a long way, I don't know how you folks go further ). I hope to be claiming my 10 mile badge next weekend, but feeling apprehensive.
After my longest run so far on Sunday I decided to take it easy. Popped out for an easy 8 miler this morning. Never thought I would say something like that!
I did the "Rog Run" 7.5 mile charity fundraiser on Sunday it goes up up up to the highest point on the island and then down down down with a finish back along the front from Bonchurch to Ventnor! I was pretty near the back but my time similar to last year ,and cos it's a nominated time run with no watches (winner wins one of Roger's own cups to keep for the year) i actually came 3rd as my guess was only 22secs out ๐they raised nearly ยฃ500 and our HQ was the top of the winter gardens with a balcony looking out to sea, perfect for a post race drinky ,was so sunny and warm lovely!
Just back from nightime trail run with a dozen or so crazy people !more hills in the dark lots of fun!๐have a good week every one! X
Go Ali! You running machine you! Sounds right good fun (apart from the hills obviously) It's lovely at the top! I have some pretty photos of those gorgeous beach huts there. Sigh. I like the sound of your night trail runs. What a hoot!
Well done missus. Money raised too! !! It's all good isn't it xx
they are a hoot!!! our run leader was cold the other week so dug out a spiderman onesie from the back of his boot and a funny wig and ran 6 mile is that!! they are a jolly bunch, next time you're down you'll have to come along!
yes love Ventnor, i'm there in the morning for the Ventnor Sloggers group! soooooo many run clubs, so little time!!
Hi roseabi, I thought that I saw your HM race report, but didn't have time to reply. Now I can't find it. Did I just dream of your race? Or did you write a report?
Ah! That explains it! Lol! ๐คฃ I really thought that I was imagining things! Well here is an interim well done and many congratulations to you! I look forward to a re-read!
