So having smashed my 5k park run yesterday which has been the focus of all my training (22:58). I thought I would do an easy long run as the end of my training block has Iβve only done 10k ones uptill now.
So this morning I went for my long run at found it so easy on the lungs due to my 5k training I carried on at my aerobic pace and just did my first half marathon at 2hr 6! Plus some big hills.
All the hard interval work for the 5k training has really paid off. The furthered i has ever run before was 16k.
I will have to enter the Retford half marathon proper. Should I go for sub 2hrs or all in and shoot for 1hr 45? It will be be at the end of the first week in March.
Can I have my half marathon badge please? Iβve been quietly progressing through a (slightly adjusted!) training plan I found on the Runners World website and managed to reach half marathon distance yesterday in a not too shabby time of 1:57:03. The cool Scottish autumn climate certainly helped; the dogs snapping at my ankles, with their oblivious owners not so much!
That is weird. I believe the badges are visible based on which forum you are in, so if you are in the Marathon forum it would show HM, and in 10k it would show Graduate. Let me ask Abi and the other admins and get back to you.
