It's yet another new week! Soon be Christmas!! ๐ฎ๐ค
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion ๐
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
I was chuffed to get to parkrun this weekend - first time since June!!! I even managed to run it quite fast, although I almost paid with my breakfast... urgh ๐คข Still, I perked up enough afterwards to enjoy a substantial SECOND breakfast!! ๐
How've your runs and breakfasts been going?
Have a great week, and enjoy those runs ๐

I am running later ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ Just a leg stretch for 5k.
I had a lie-in and porridge breakfast. I got back quite late yesters as we went for dinner post race at a local pub, with my niece and family, I didnโt get a bath til I got home after 9.00 pm. Went to bed with wet hair. You should see it this morning. Itโs like a Mr Whippy ๐ฆ
Not sorted my stats out yet, because as expected my stupid watch died before the end. I switched to Garmin 2 when the first one started to die. So Iโve got to sort out the time from two watches. The race distance is longer than a marathon because of the way the laps pan out My official time was 5.02 but because it was a gnatโs longer I am hoping my Garmin time for 42.2 km sneaks me under the five hour mark. If not, iโm Still pleased as it means I was a full 52 minutes faster than last year. Yeeeeeeeeha ๐ช๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐ ๐ฅ๐ช
Iโll do a report in a mo and post up some pics. Some awful pics ๐ณ๐. I wonโt be posting those. Got a little filum ๐
Just completed the Brighton 10k and will post about that later. For now though I am to embark on a two week run free break, prior to starting HM training in December.
I'm sticking to a ritual of a HM+5k+10k each week until I decide what the plan is for early next year. There are some very early events in sunny southern Spain that look tempting!
Iโm on my third week of the new plan, still making adjustments to it around my life. Have added in 1-2 extra short runs and some cross train cycling in between. But it is getting icy now so may have to switch to something else soon for CT. Did 14k on Sat and 12k this morn. Trying for something longer next Sat. We will see.
Brrrrr. You are awesome to still be riding your bike, I am such a wimp in that respect (I should invest in some foot-warming technology really) - and it hardly ever gets icy here! ๐
I have sacked off the November running streak and am enjoying a couple of rest days with my poor legs recovering! I hope to go to club on Wednesday and may do a run tomorrow if allโs well. Looking to do a 17-19k on Sunday if I can. Not far off the HM now ๐๐ฝ
Just posted my HM report! I'm into homemade smoothie for brekkies this week roseabi after rediscovering my machine! ๐
If goes according to plan have tues club tomorrow eve ,off rd dark moonlit(*and torchs!) run weds eve (saw a shooting star last week!) There a club event thurs (*maybe! ) all of the islsnd clubs together, Fri morning is Ventnor sloggers 5km run, Sat parkrun ! That might well be enough! you'd like the Friday one as it's sometimes breakfast afterwards looking out to sea! So busy week here with some work in between and dog walkies for George! ๐๐ถxxx
So l was studying my HM plan last night (I find it oddly comforting, my security blanket) and spotted that cycle 9 has a 10k race. And in my plan it fell on a Sunday (i now realise it will always fall on race day of the week, I fear this is no coincidence, not fate, but a deliberate plot ๐). So I took a quick look and found the Royal Parks winter series 10K in Hyde Park. Booked! Car parking too which is the same one I have booked for the HM so a good chance for a practice of race day logistics ๐
How perfect! I haven't managed to spot many local 10k races myself, there is one local-ish - somewhere near Crawley I think, but I may just stage my own 10k ๐
Very resourceful. I just got a bit carried away last night ๐. It's a couple of weeks after we get back from holiday, so hopefully it will help keep me focused and on track ๐
Club run for me tomorrow night - I have moved up from the Beginners to the Improvers group and found it quite tough going last week - lots of hills! - so hope I can keep up better this week. It was fine the week before so hoping I just had an off day. Solo run early Friday morning with little mutley, really enjoyed that last week so looking forward to that - a nice easy mut strut ๐พ Then my final (yippee!) 10k race of the month on Sunday - I'm not aiming for any PBs in that, just to get round the hilly course without walking would be nice. Have a good week, all! ๐๐๐๐
